JL Audio
subwoofers are subwoofers in the true sense of the word. Every aspect of
their design has been optimized to produce optimum fidelity below 100Hz. Being
a precision loudspeaker, JL Audio subwoofers must be installed in a
properly designed and constructed enclosure. Your JL Audio dealer has
extensive application information for your speaker. Some basic enclosure
information is provided here. If this enclosure information is not
applicable to your vehicle, please contact your local authorized JL Audio
dealer for further assistance.
We recommend the use of
this speaker in a bi-amplified system using high-quality satellite speakers
such as the JL Audio Evolution systems. We do not recommend the use
of JL Audio subwoofers with a passive crossover (coil), as this type of
device will adversely affect performance.

Important!
The enclosure dimensions
listed above are external dimensions which assume the use of 3/4"
(19mm) thick material. Do not use any material with a thickness of
less than 3/4" (13mm) as this may compromise the rigidity of the
enclosure.
We strongly recommend the
use of JL Audio Flex-Port tubing and port mouths with these speakers. Use a
port mouth on the outside and inside of each port.
